Responding to “In the Details”

My studio practice has been about exploring everyday memories, especially those that are often overlooked.  As part of my “Everyday Circuits exhibition” at Gallery Camellia in 2016, I sought to expand my exploration of the overlooked to spaces themselves.  The photographic series “Gallery Camellia Memories” focuses on the overlooked features of Gallery Camellia, such as the texture of the floor and ceiling, , the form of the light switches, specks of paint on the window sills, holes left in the gallery walls, and more.  Utilizing macro photography, I hope to instill a new awareness to those who see these works to take the time to explore all aspects of a given space.  While these photographs are specific to Gallery Camellia, I hope that the works will encourage visitors to take their time exploring “In The Details” as well as Gallery LeDeco itself.
